Santa and Friendly Brass Band return to Westgate

Santa's Grotto is now open from Saturday 16th until the 24th December. 10.30am - 4.00pm. We have Friendly Brass Band playing on Saturday 16th as well. 1pm - 3pm. It's going to feel really festive at Westgate!

Santa has arrived at Westgate!

This weekend (2nd and 3rd of December) saw the arrival of Santa at Westgate Arcade, and was a massive success! Santa will be back on the 9th and 10th of December and then everyday from the 16th to the 24th December 10.30am - 4pm. £5 per child, including a gift and a wonderful certificate.

Halloween Celebrations at Westgate

Shoppers enjoyed a Hallowe’en treat at the Westgate Arcade in Halifax at the weekend. Many of the shops in the covered centre dressed their windows with spooky themes and giant pumpkins adorned the entrances. Some traders even dressed up in scary attire to add to the atmosphere.

Children’s face painter Julie Dee, of Face Ace, Hebden Bridge, was a popular attraction. Visitors were also asked to nominate their favourite window display. 

A selection of Hallowe’en pictures by pupils from Warley Town School is currently on display in the passageway between Westgate and the New Road car park.

Assistant Manager of Westgate David Riley said: “It was a great opportunity for traders to enter into the spirit of Hallowe’en. Many of them went to great lengths to decorate their windows, which helped to enhance the shopping experience.”

The best Yorkshire Day event in Calderdale...

Together, the Piece Hall and the Westgate Arcade Shopping Centre hosted "one of the best" and most well attended Yorkshire Day events in the region. Hope this is a sign of things to come for Halifax!

Well Westgate Arcade has just the thing for you:
To be in with a chance of winning a meal for two at any Westgate eatery PLUS £50 to spend at any shop, simply visit any Westgate shop or restaurant, make a purchase and pick up a Valentine's competition flyer.  Then, write the name of your Valentine on the front of the flyer and complete the contact details on the reverse - then just pop the completed flyer in the Valentine's Post Box in the Arcade. Valentine's wishes will be displayed in the centre so see if you can spot your name or any that you have written. A winner will then be chosen at random on Feb 14th and notified how to pick up their prize!

Santa will be greeting youngsters in his magical grotto, where they can hand over their wish lists and receive a gift.
